Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technologist for a 12-week contract to assist in complex cardiac and vascular procedures. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience and be comfortable scrubbing circulating and monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures. Candidates must also be open to floating to other facilities within the Providence system.

• Assist physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures including PCI PTCA left/right heart catheterization

• Scrub and maintain a sterile field during procedures

• Circulate and set up procedure rooms and equipment

• Monitor and recognize dysrhythmias and critical changes during procedures

• Perform vascular access management sheath removal and post-procedure care

• Administer procedural sedation assist in blood product administration and manage vascular devices

• Float to other Providence facilities as needed

• Maintain documentation within Epic (required)

• 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience (required)

• Must be comfortable floating across facilities within Providence

• Familiarity with procedures such as biopsies (GI GU renal) peripheral vascular central lines and cardiac implantable devices

• Must be proficient in sterile technique infection control and life-threatening arrhythmia recognition

• Patient diagnosis exposure: Acute MI interventional pre/post procedural

• Special equipment: Must be able to scrub circulate and record

• Staffing ratio: 1:1

• Former Providence perm staff must have a 3-month separation before being eligible for travel roles

• RTO must be submitted at time of submission

Education:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology program

Experience:
Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience in a hospital setting

License & Certifications:

• ARRT (R) or CCI RCIS Required

• ACLS Required

• BLS Required

• Epic charting system experience Required

• Fluoro Permit Preferred (if required by state)

Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures:

• Left/Right Heart Catheterization

• Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)

• PTCA

• Rotablader Athrectomy

• IABP Placement/Removal

• Interpretation of Dysrhythmias

• ASD Closures Stent Placement

• Cardiac Implant Closure Device

Peripheral & Interventional Radiology Procedures:

• Angioplasty (renal pelvic adrenal mesenteric extremities)

• Embolization Chemoembolization

• Biopsies (Liver Renal GI GU)

• Paracentesis Thoracentesis

• Ureteral and Renal Artery Stents

• Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose StarClose)

Genitourinary and Other Skills:

• Cystoscopy Gastrostomy Cholecystostomy

• Nephrostomy Uterine Arterial Embolization

Professional & Technical:

• Equipment setup and maintenance

• PACS and Epic EMR use

• Isolation precautions infection control

• Life-threatening arrhythmia recognition

• Scrub/circulator dual capability
