Job Title:
Sr. Manager Commercial and Cost Chicago
Location:
Lombard IL. This position will follow a hybrid workfromhome/office model with at least three days in the office weekly
Role Summary:
This position supports activities involving Yield Management within the North America Region with focus on the improvement of the company yield through managing ONEs dual goals of providing industry leading operations and maximizing profitability.
Senior Manager is responsible to lead the Commercial &Cost team in developing better business solutions and efficiencies in the area of Detention & Demurrage (D&D) dispute management AR management and equipment velocity management including laden long stay management and shipper pool contract monitoring and management.
Senior Manager of this position will become by involving multiple internal stakeholders a key control tower over the endtoend D&D process issues from the business policy making regulatory filing internal process development dispute management and AR collection.
Also Senior Manager will help develop team goals in line with the companys vision as well as resources to measure and achieve these goals and will support team members in their efforts to achieve these goals.
Additional Responsibilities:
(D&D Management) Proactively work with internal concerned parties such as Sales&Marketing F&A Legal BPIT and Cargo Management to enhance the efficiency of D&D management. In addition the team will work with the offshore team as a front line of D&D dispute management.
(AR Management) Strategically resolve Account receivable not only Detention and Demurrage but also Ocean Freight and Third Party Billing by coordinating related divisions such as F&A Sales Marketing Operational Divisions etc.
(EQ Velocity Management) Lead a team to develop resource(s) that measure(s) EQ velocity delays in NA (realtime and trend).
Through the collaborative effort with GHQ and cargo management the team will resolve the laden long stay status of import and export containers to ensure the quicker velocity of our equipment.
Work with commercial teams to properly manage shipper pool booking usage and unusage and explore new opportunities to reduce shipper pool booking volume that benefit both ONE and shippers
Support Director and upper management by escalating key issues.
Strong understanding of data elements involved in ONEs activities including but not limited to invoice data.
Get involved in resolving D&D related issues.
Manage reporting lines to find viable solutions against issues.
Facilitate crossfunctional discussions and bring the forum to problem solving.
Attend evening or morning overseas meetings with relevant GHQ teams and communicate about NAs requirements while understanding the needs from GHQ and overseas.

Strong proficiency in Google suite applications (Sheets Docs and Slide) as primary and MS applications (Excel Word and PowerPoint) as secondary.
Advanced knowledge of macros pivot tables and formulas in MS Excel/Google Sheet
Required Minimum Years Experience:
7 years of industryrelated experience and 3 years of management experience
Required Minimum Education:
Bachelors Degree and above preferred
