SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be competitively screened based on the minimum qualifications of this position. Based upon a review of the application materials qualified candidate applications will be forwarded to the hiring department for review. Application materials will be evaluated for jobrelated skills experience and education. Individuals with the best match to the position may be invited to participate in an interview.
Candidate(s) selected for hire will be required to submit a copy of their current California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record printout . To obtain a copy you can go to the DMV website at to purchase your record online for $2.00.
INFORMATION ABOUT PROOF OF EDUCATION/COURSE ENROLLMENT
Candidates are required to submit/attach proof of education (i.e. original copy of class schedule or transcripts with the application.
Any candidate selected by the hiring department will be required to successfully complete a preemployment process which may consist of a background history check as well as a medical exam(s) administered by a Cityselected physician(s) before hire. Prior to starting work all newlyhired employees will be fingerprinted to check conviction history. A conviction history will not necessarily disqualify an applicant from appointment; however failure to disclose conviction history will result in refusal of employment or termination. Positions which are covered by the Department of Transportation regulations are required to submit to a preemployment drug test and to random drug and alcohol testing.
