Job Description

THE POSITION


TheCity of Rancho CordovasPublic Works Maintenance & Operations division is seeking an enthusiastic gogetter with a career interest in Public Works operations contracts asset management and maintenance activities. This unique job offers the opportunity to build your career including:
  • Oversight and onsite inspection of work performed by contractors working on public works projects such as sidewalks street signs and public landscaping
  • Detailed asset management: data entry; reporting; and tracking
  • Assist with project scoping related to street signs striping and public landscaping
  • Manage contracts expenditures and budget
  • Write staff reports provide project updates draft request for proposals and contracts
  • Develop manage and improve public works maintenance and repair plans
  • Respond to public inquiries and resolve related concerns

Maintenance and Operations Technician I/II

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain knowledge and abilities would be:

Maintenance and Operations Technician I Hourly Range: $30.79 $37.65

Maintenance and Operations Technician II Hourly Range: $33.93 $41.42
Education:
  • Equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
Experience:
  • Two 2 years maintenance and construction experience as a Maintenance and Operations Technician I in the City of Rancho Cordova or three 3 years of increasing fulltime experience related to the maintenance and construction of public works infrastructure that included the oversight of outside contractors.
License or Certification:
  • Possession of a valid California drivers license.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a Traffic Control and/or Flagger Certification within one 1 year of appointment in position
