Director of Operations CareerWise USA

Who we are:
CareerWiseis a nationallyrecognized nonprofit organization that creates lifechanging opportunities for the youngest generation of Americas workforce. We build industryled studentcentered modern youth apprenticeships through classroom and onthejob learning providing flexible alternative pathways to economic mobility. We have hundreds of CareerWise apprentices in the workplace charting new paths to academic and career success. In addition workforce and education leaders from across the country have visited CareerWise to learn about our youth apprenticeship model. As a result our programs have launched in multiple states leveraging our institutional knowledge technology and infrastructure.

Were looking for someone to oversee the daytoday operations of the CareerWise USA Team ensuring efficient management of business processes aligning operations with strategic goals maximizing productivity and monitoring spending in accordance with budgets. You can successfully plan and execute projects and can lead the change management process. You are an excellent people leader and continually find ways to inspire and motivate your team.

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive VP of CareerWise USA the Director of Operations will be responsible for advancing CareerWises mission growth and impact while overseeing the daytoday operations of the team optimizing processes managing resources ensuring quality control and supporting the CareerWise team to achieve organizational goals in accordance with standards set by the Chief Operating Officer and the Executive Leadership Team.

What Youll Be Doing:

Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement:Drive a culture of operational excellence across CareerWise USA by establishing implementing and continuously refining efficient workflows and processes. Lead the ongoing monitoring and improvement of operational performance to ensure highquality outcomes and maximize impact.

CrossTeam and CrossDepartment Project Management:Lead and manage crossfunctional projects and initiatives collaborating effectively with team leaders within CWUSA and across other CareerWise teams. Ensure seamless coordination and communication to achieve project goals and contribute to the overall strategic objectives of the organization.

Business Model and Revenue Management:Oversee critical aspects of the business model and revenue generation including contract management development and implementation of pricing structures and optimization of capacity utilization. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the leadership team to enhance financial sustainability and growth.

Project Management and :Manage crossfunctional projects with CareerWise New York and CareerWise Colorado and ensure connectivity to CareerWise USA. Ensure that each project is completed on time stays within budget and achieves its intended outcomes. Monitor progress and provide timely updates to leadership.

Strategic Plan Management: Monitor progress toward strategic goals communicate concerns and facilitate crossdepartment adjustments where necessary. Manage and monitor crossdepartment projects ensuring they align with CareerWises strategic priorities with a focus.

Human Resources Support:Partner with CareerWise Human Resources to implement HR strategies policies and procedures across the USA teams. Support key HR functions such as recruitment training and employee development. Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes collaboration accountability and employee satisfaction.

Budget and Financial Management:Collaborate with the Finance Team to monitor and ensure strict budget compliance. Ensure contracts are managed efficiently and effectively.

Metrics Tracking & Reporting: Regularly track and report on key operational metrics that align with the strategic plan. Use data to provide insights and recommendations to leadership to enhance organizational performance.

Team Collaboration and Leadership: Serve as a trusted resource for the EVP of CareerWise USA and the broader CareerWise Team. Use a collaborative and supportive approach to help team members overcome challenges stay accountable and drive effective communication.

Promote Knowledge Sharing:Foster an environment of shared knowledge and continuous learning. Ensure that the team is equipped with the tools information and support they need to succeed in their roles and contribute to the overall mission of CareerWise.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies and Experience to be Successful in this Role:

  • Minimum of 5years experience proven experience with operational management
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

  • Compiles analyzes and translates complex data for planning and reporting purposes

  • Values a wide range of perspectives and seeks unique experiences to inform opinions
  • Ability to draw best practices from experiences in nonprofit sector private sector and/or consulting
  • Results oriented and selfdriven
  • Proficiency with project management and business tools such as Salesforce Microsoft Office Google Suite Slack and/or Jira.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and the need to adapt

  • Experience in nonprofit education and/or workforce work particularlyapprenticeships

  • Experience working with hybrid teams
  • Willingness to travel 35 times per year if/as needed

Location:
This role is based in Denver Colorado. CareerWise staff typically work a hybrid work schedule.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $84872$127308annually; this role is not covered by the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the FLSA. CareerWise offers a generous benefits package including group medical dental and vision plans shortterm disability 100 vested 401k Plan with a 3 employer contribution and Flexible Time Off.
