Job Description

The Maritime Solution Systems Portfolio within the Maritime Systems Division (MSD) is seeking an experienced dynamic and highly capable Linux system administrator to join the Leidos team at a customer site in San Diego CA. The business activities within this portfolio include underwater vehicle systems maritime sensors supporting information technology and engineering services for complex maritime applications and the development and support of underwater data acquisition and telemetry systems for distributed sensors used in platform signature measurement.

Key Responsibilities:

Install configure and maintain Linuxbased servers and systems (RedHat CentOS Ubuntu etc..
Manage system performance monitoring backups and troubleshooting.
Ensure system security by configuring firewalls SSL VPNs and applying patches and updates.
Collaborate with the engineering teams to configure environments and troubleshoot systemrelated issues.
Monitor and resolve hardware software and networking issues in a timely manner.
Perform routine system upgrades patching and security compliance checks.
Administer and maintain virtualized environments (e.g. VMware KVM).
Provide troubleshooting and technical support for escalated issues.
Provide emergency response to critical outages or incidents.
Document system configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps for internal use.


Required Qualifications
Skills commensurate with primary responsibilities described above.
Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP DNS HTTP/HTTPS VPN etc..
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware KVM etc..
Expertise in shell scripting (Bash Python etc. and troubleshooting.
Experience with version control tools like Git.
Understanding of system security best practices and tools.
BS degree and 812 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 610 years of prior relevant experience.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to complete technical projects independently.
Strong problemsolving skills along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. Currently hold Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the Navy RMF process including security categorization risk assessments continuous monitoring and ATO.
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC2.
CompTIA Linux.
CompTIA Security.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89700.00 $162150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
