SALARY: $25.94 $28.59 per hour

AA Degree $.50 per hour extra/

BA Degree $.75 per hour extra

SCHEDULE: 8 hours per dayMondaythrough Friday

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

260 day work year

QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Grade B or better onDistrict administeredclerical test
  • Keyboarding accuracy at 50 wpm on district administered test
  • Excellent spelling punctuation and grammar language and communication skills
  • Accuracy in computer skills developing spreadsheets and use of computer software programssuch as Excel Word and/or other applications
  • Demonstrated punctuality and an excellent work attendance record
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and tactfully with the public fellow employees and other District staff
  • Ability to accurately process heavy volumes of documentation work well under pressure and manage deadlines
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously with many interruptions
  • History of maintaining confidentiality and working within designated bounds of authority
  • Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional cooperative working relationships

QUALIFICATIONSDESIRED:

  • AA Degree
  • Previous school or district office experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Human Resources related experience
  • Knowledge of BusinessPlus software
  • Knowledge and experience with online application software

****SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES****

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Employee Services this position is responsible for the timely processing of information related to certificated and classified staff in the district. This position requires the ability to be able to work in an office environment with inflexible deadlines multiple demands noise and frequent interruptions. The Employee Services Technician will be required to deal with individuals in potentially emotional and challenging situations as well as handle heavy volumes of work under extreme pressure. The position must be able to work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure employee pay assignments and work calendars are entered and reported correctly.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES: EMPLOYEE SERVICES TECHNICIAN

  • Schedule and coordinate orientations for new staff both classified and certificated.
  • Complete and distribute Verification of Experience forms on former employees as needed.
  • Complete Verification of Employment for certificated and/or classified staff.
  • Generate and track the new employee Payroll Action Forms and send them electronically to appropriate staff.
  • Support the completion of reference checks for classified and certificated staff.
  • Enter new employee information (i.e. identification and demographic information) in the districts computer software program.
  • Support Classified and Certificated Record Managers in tracking staff assignments and budget codes.
  • Support other Employee Services staff in the screening of new applicants.
  • Send NORAs to staff each year and track status.
  • Assist with and support other duties of the Employee Services department including organizing and/or supporting Employee Services events i.e. career fairs candidate days workshops etc. providing support to the Employee Services front desk and the Booth receptionist as needed and filing information in personnel folders and archiving folders/information as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
