We are looking for a teacher who is committed to reaching all students raising achievement through a rigorous and relevant curriculum and supporting a school culture of excellence and joyful ideal candidate has experience with standardsbased grading and is committed to raising student achievement through an integration of rigorous college preparatory classes with service to the community. The Math Teacher at SACS will be responsible for the following in addition to other duties as assigned by their principal:Working with and for Students:Aligning curricular standards with state guidelinesMonitoring student progress through standardsbased assessmentsAnalyzing student dataDifferentiating instructionTeaching 4 math classes per day (with 2 periods reserved for preparation and collaboration)Tutoring one day per week after schoolSupport plan and/or colead ServiceLearning projectsAdvising students through daily Connections class (homeroom)Input academic and behavioral data on the school data management systemAnalyze student data and monitor student progress through standardsbased assessmentsWorking with and for Families:Participate in Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences three times per yearCommunicate regularly with families about academic and social progressCohost IEP meetingsWorking with and for Colleagues:Build and maintain strong school culture centered on student achievementWork collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the success of the school missionParticipate in weekly professional development sessionsParticipate in weekly gradelevel team meetingsInputting academic and behavioral data on the school data management systemWho You Are:You are a skilled have at least 13 years of experience teaching math and a sound understanding of the Common Core. You understand the importance of culturally responsive education. You are committed to standardsbased teaching and are unapologetically focused on student outcomes. You work to build studentcentered learning environments. You respond reactively and proactively to the academic and socialemotional needs of students in their classrooms. You have a proven track record of achieving academic success with a diverse student are values aligned. You are passionate about Salem Academy Charter Schools mission and bring people together and build community. You recognize the assets and community cultural wealth of all students families and staff. You have experience fostering effective inclusion practices and a safe positive and respectful class and school culture. You are caring committed and collaborative with colleagues and :Bachelors degree;Demonstrated subject matter competence and a sound understanding of the Common Core;Background but not required to apply:Possession of Massachusetts Teacher Certification or successful completion of the MTEL preferred (MTEL completion required in first year);Are multilingual including in Spanish and English;Have designed and successfully implemented culturally responsive curriculum;Have similar life experiences as our students;Excitement about integrating academics with service work;Interest in working collaboratively to improve instruction for all Academy Charter School values a school culture that celebrates learning and we believe that the adult culture in the school is the foundation of the schools success.
