Title 1C Summer School Program Assistant (Temporary)

25 hrs/week MondayFriday 16 days total

Hours: 9:002:00

Rate: $16.50/hour

July 7th July 25th 2025

Location: Redmond Hugh Hartman Elementary

Position Summary:

The Summer School Program Assistant supports the daily operations of the summer school program by providing general assistance to teachers and staff. This role plays a key part in ensuring a smooth and welcoming environment for students and staff by assisting with a variety of tasks as needed throughout the day.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with classroom preparation organization and cleanup
  • Make photocopies and prepare materials for lessons and activities
  • Support staff with student supervision during arrival lunch and dismissal times
  • Help maintain a clean and orderly environment in shared spaces including classrooms and the cafeteria
  • Provide general support to teachers and program staff as assigned
  • Follow program guidelines and safety procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in working with English Language Learners.
  • Applicants must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities and/or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population
  • Must be able to bend stoop and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and consistent attendance is required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to: talk hear walk frequently sit stand stoop kneel crouch crawl use hand dexterity for computer work handle items reach with hand and arms lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds and see close and at a distance have peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. Workloads are heavy and timelines may be unreasonably short at times. Requests and issues are often received which require immediate attention and conflict with other priorities.
