Job Description

Job Description Summary
Serve as primary liaison with faculty staff administration and outside vendors to develop and coordinate facultyled Travel Course and International Internship programs with 400450 participants a year. Oversee the development and management of program budgets payments data collection contract negotiations risk management program evaluations reconciliation faculty and student surveys. Review and revise faculty Travel Expense Reports. Work with the Director and the Office of the Provost in the development oversight and adherence to university policies related to faculty travel and Travel Course leadership. Coordinate and maintain financial records budgets and reconciliation of receipts for all Travel Courses. Interview hire train and supervise staff and student workers. Assist CGE with conferences fairs special events and guests invited to campus. Conduct site visits. Participate and contribute with the Director Global Education Advisors and the rest of the CGE team in the development and administration of the Center for Global Education International Internship and Travel Course programs. Assist with student staffing budgeting marketing program development purchasing and financial reporting as needed. Represent the Center for Global Education and establish credibility and visibility at campus events and while serving on campus committees. Serve as university representative with international partners onsite visits and at regional and international conferences. Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
Program development and troubleshooting Work with faculty members to develop and determine viability of Travel Courses Develop budgets for Travel Courses and International Internships including projection of costs versus revenues Negotiate contracts with providers to ensure best services and rates Assess program effectiveness and revise program procedures and guidelines as necessary Help counsel incountry team faculty and students experiencing emergency and nonemergency situations. Create and implement strategic plans for increasing Travel Course and Internship opportunities by conducting research on housing placement process academics incountry support orientation cultural programs and evaluation methods and providing recommendations to the Director. Evaluate customized internship programs annually determine program components and make recommendations to faculty of record. Conduct site visits as necessary. Administration Develop and oversee the adherence of faculty to university procedures and policies. Work with the Director and the Office of the Provost to review and evaluate current policies and make recommendations for changes. Maintain the Travel Course Faculty Handbook semesterly and communicate updates to faculty leaders and administrators. Perform site visits and make recommendations for approving new programs or discontinuing current programs develop criteria for site visits independently assess strengths and weaknesses and provide recommendations on the continuation of the relationship. Regularly consult with and make recommendations to Director regarding affiliations policies procedures improvement and expansion. Represent Chapman at national and international conferences. Serve as main contact with providers and campus offices (e.g. Registrar Provost Budget Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Purchasing Risk Management) Assist faculty with developing budgets coordinating logistics and agreements with providers and distributing and collecting paperwork Maintain records reconcile expenses and process invoices and payments Oversee the development of Terra Dotta program brochures and other marketing materials. Compile and report statistics Review travel course and international internship contracts Orient and train staff as needed

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree with a minimum of five years relevant experience Demonstrated experience in overseas educational programs intercultural communication and the field of international education as well as professional standards in shortterm courses Strong international and intercultural awareness and sensitivity Diplomacy to represent Center for Global Education and university in official capacity Proven ability to relate to students faculty staff understand their concerns and advise accordingly Strong analytical skills to conduct program evaluation contribute to departmental goals and help construct plans to achieve them Strong organizational skills to prioritize competing projects organize multiple events follow through and meet deadlines with minimal supervision Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to interact well with diverse constituents and make persuasive presentations Computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications and Terra Dotta Software Well organized with attention to detail Technical skills to learn and use enterprise systems related to the position Accounting skills to coordinate student billing and handle payments of programs
