Position: Assistant Coordinator Jenks Trojan Swim Club
Reports to: Jenks Trojan Swim Club Coordinator
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree or higher in physical education elementary education secondary education personal training swimming related field or other associated area preferred.
- Five years of swim coaching experience club supervision/coordination experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all age levels parents school faculty coaches parent spirit group supervisor(s) and the community.
- Proven knowledge and success as a swim coach.
- Certification in competitive swim safety course (USA Swimming certifications can be completed within ninety 90 days posthire).
- Exhibits strong core values including respect trust and honesty.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: Assist in the planning organization and coordination of the operations and administration of the Districts Swim Club.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of swim coaching skills leadership and teamwork.
- Assists in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining standards of student/athlete behavior.
- Promotes school spirit by supporting all school activities and encourages student/athletes to support all school activities.
- Fosters good schoolcommunity relations regarding the swim program.
- Models positive and professional interaction with students and staff.
- Assists in the selection assignment and evaluation of swim coaching staff.
- Assists coordinator with daytoday direction and handson guidance of all aspects of the swim club program.
- Assists coordinator with development of long and shortterm goals to meet internal and external customer needs.
- Serves as assistant supervisor and program liaison between the coordinator coaches and other parties (parents Booster Club) for the program.
- Maintains regular office hours and assists with the supervision of established program practice hours as approved by the program coordinator and Community Education.
- Provides onsite customer service during club practices and activities as needed.
- Manages clerical work related to the operations of the swim program including:
- Maintains an uptodate list of participants.
- Assists in submitting necessary program reports and travel requests.
- Maintains student/enrollment information.
- Assists with the preparation of all participant meet entries.
- Other program tasks as needed.
- Oversees the accounting and payroll functions associated with the operations of the swim program which includes providing a monthly financial report(s) to the Coordinator and Community Education.
- Helps plan schedule and conduct a regular practice program during and after the seasons including the summer that promotes and enhances the Districts swim goals.
- Assists in the preparation of the swim annual calendar of practices and activities.
- Assists in the preparation and organization of all home and away swim meets.
- Attends swim meets and practices which requires evening and weekend hours.
- Maintains JTSC web page with an updated calendar for each swim group (K4 56 advanced and senior).
- Serves as the liaison for the clubs social media communications and marketing efforts.
- Assists in the planning and scheduling of staff meetings staff development teambuilding opportunities and specialized training.
- Assists with the planning of parent participant and volunteer meetings as needed.
- Shares responsibility for the maintenance and inventory of all swim timing systems and equipment utilized by the swim team.
- Assists with selection and recommendation of equipment supply and uniform purchases as needed.
- Assists in the development and implementation of written/documented swimmer assessments.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Twelve 12 months a year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.
