Job Description

Bethel University has an immediate opening for a Financial Aid Assistant to join our Financial Aid team.

While demonstrating understanding and sensitivity to the needs of all students the Financial Aid Assistant is responsible for overseeing processes related to document management data entry and student financial aid files as well as responding to questions related to financial aid from students and families. This person will also provide administrative support to the department and the Director.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee processing of documents needed to complete students financial aid files including correspondence with students financial aid data entry and developing financial requests for funds disbursement
  • Counsel students and parents on financial aid options choices and processes
  • Assist with producing written correspondence and preparing mailings related to financial aid packaging
  • Answer phones for the financial aid office and monitor the general financial aid email inbox
  • Coordinate the processes for loan entrance and exit counseling as well as administer all loan disbursement notifications
  • Provide all followup regarding verification processes
  • Assist with the supervision and daily task distribution of student employee(s)
  • Prepare reports and documents for freshman registration as well as for meetings with students and families about financial aid options
  • Review and update office documents and procedures as needed
  • Assist in maintaining the financial aid office master calendar for processing and communication
  • Assist in developing and planning FAFSA events on campus
