Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a Geography Teacher in an outstanding Newham school with potential for TLR responsibilities!

Our dynamic and inclusive outstanding school in Newham is looking for a motivated and innovative Geography Teacher to join our dedicated team. This role offers the chance to grow professionally and potentially take on a TLR contributing to the leadership and development of the Geography department and the schools wider understanding of global issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highquality Geography lessons across Key Stages 34 (and potentially KS5.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere that encourages inquiry and critical thinking about the world.
  • Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential in Geography.
  • Contribute to the collaborative work of the Humanities department and the schools commitment to global citizenship.
  • Opportunities for a TLR for candidates who show initiative and a desire to lead in specific areas of Geography or departmental initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Geography or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching Geography at secondary level (ECTs encouraged to apply).
  • A strong commitment to student progress understanding of geographical concepts and fieldwork.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • An interest in taking on additional responsibilities and leadership within the Geography department (for TLR consideration).
