Job Description
The Charter Township of Shelbys Department of Public Works is now accepting applications for parttime/ seasonal Grounds Maintenance Workers. Applicants must be at least 18 years old have a current drivers license and a clean driving record. Interested applicants must be available to work 7:30 am 4:00 pm Monday Friday during the summer.
The hourly pay rate for this position is $16.97 per hour no benefits.
Some of the job duties associated with this classification include but are not limited to:
- Paint fire hydrants
- Plant trees and shrubs
- Lay topsoil and replace sod and seed
- Repair and replace damaged sidewalks
- Utilize hand and power tools such as shovels rakes and saws
- Drive Township trucks or other vehicles to worksites
- Assist fulltime employees with various projects including sprinkler system repairs and water damage repairs
