Job Description

Main Purpose of Job

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Project Manager II will serve as a Project Manager primarily forEV charging installation Design and Construction projects but could also manage projects with thebuilding decarbonization team as needed. This position manages and coordinates EV infrastructureinstallation projects as part of a Statewide EV Infrastructure Program. This position will provideproject management duties such as creating procurement specifications awarding design andconstruction projects evaluating bids managing construction and resolving warranty position will work closely with the Senior EV Project Manager the EV Program Manager electricutilities and their EV program staff vendors and using agencies. The work requires travelthroughout the State on site visits for preinstallation assessments progress meetings and postinstallation inspections.

POSITION DUTIES

Duties to include but are not limited to:

Meetings/Project Management: Attends all progress meetings as necessary resolving issues andproviding project management insight. Conducts site visits as needed to ensure proper and timelyinstallation and other appropriate site development considerations. Processes invoices inaccordance with regulations. Review documentation as submitted and approve as necessary.

Task Order Approval/Construction: Prepares appropriate agenda item for approval of task orders inaccordance with Md. Procurement Regulations. Manages and/or coordinates project with the UsingAgency and DGS Construction Division as needed during the construction phase to assure thecompletion of the project in accordance with specifications. Approves
changes as necessary to scope of work reviews and approves proposed change orders andapproves any additional funding in accordance with DGS Procedures. Maintains electronicPCO/Change Order Log in Project Folder in the drive. Reviews and approves invoices within 3 daysof receipt.

Construction Document Design: Manages the EV charging station supply contracts to assurecoordination between the contractor and the using agency to finalize a design that matches theproject requirements and meets the standard for the industry for construction. Evaluates andrequests changes as necessary on all contractor submittals. Conducts CD review meetings.Reviews and approves estimates prepared by contractors.

Coordinate with the EV Program Manager: Coordinates longterm planning and strategies to meetthe timelines and goals of the EV Infrastructure Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:Six years of experience two years of experience as an Engineer in the building construction renovation or maintenance fields and an additional four years of experience performing maintenance or construction engineering work in facility and maintenance system work.

may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and two years of experience as an Engineer in the building construction renovation or maintenance fields for the required experience.

may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military serviceexperience as a commissioned officer in Civil Engineer Corps classifications or Construction Engineering Technician or Civil or Combat Engineering specialty codes in the Engineering field of work on a yearforyear basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess the following additionalqualification(s) to be clear and specificinformation on your application regardingall qualifications.

Two years of experience managing small tomedium construction projects including managing schedules managing contractsprocessing invoices etc.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants whopossess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear andspecific information on your application regardingall qualifications.

Experience with EV charginginfrastructure projects.

Electrical engineering degree and/orelectrical experience.

Experience managing projects that includenew service connections.

Experience with building electrification.

Experience with the State procurementprocess.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees may be required to carry an electronic paging device or provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached.
