Main Purpose of Job

The Assistant Performance Officer is a Family Investment Administration (FIA) midsenior level position that will provide support to the Data Analytics and Performance Officer in the Data Analytics and Performance Office and will assess program and customer data identify trends and present data in comprehensive dashboards to the leadership of Family Investment Administration (FIA) and ensure that adequate controls are implemented and sustained to measure performance and drive performance improvement.

This position is responsible for the data collection management and advanced data analysis for program performance in FIA programs; will create and recommend performance management strategies that result in continuous improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness across all divisions of FIA; will work with FIA senior and midlevel managers to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies within the administration; and will participate in the development of the administrations strategic plan and work with senior leadership to align performance metrics with strategic objectives.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Manages ongoing data performance management by collecting and interpreting data from various sources by compiling interpreting and presenting data to Data Analytics and Performance Officer and Deputy Director.

  • Uses cuttingedge data science and machine learning techniques to tackle complex challenges.

  • Prepares executivelevel briefs reports (monthly quarterly semiannually annually) and visual management artifacts to support senior leadership decisionmaking; manages Family Investment Administration performance dashboard.

  • Participates in the development of the FIA Strategic Plan; provides insights into the measurement of short medium and longterm goals; assists in defining key performance indicators to track progress towards strategic goals; works with FIA senior leadership to align performance metrics with strategic objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Masters degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules regulations policy procedures and processes or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a yearforyear basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicantswho possess the following preferred qualification(s).Include clear and specific information on your application regardingyour qualifications.

One year of experience using data and performance metrics to drive decisionmaking and improvement initiatives.

One year of experience using project management methodologies (ex. Six Sigma Lean Agile).

One year of experience utilizing interpersonal and collaboration skills to establish and maintain a working relationship with stakeholders and internal departments.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.

For education obtained outside the U.S. a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.
