Job Description

The Division of Cardiac Surgery at Yale School of Medicine invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor position to support the growth and development of the Yale Medicine/Yale New Haven Health Systems Heart Transplant Program. This role is vital to advancing the program and strengthening its regional and national presence.

The successful candidate will play a central role in enhancing the Heart Transplant Programs clinical and academic prominence. Faculty responsibilities include teaching and mentoring medical students residents and fellows at Yale School of Medicine as well as participating in departmental quality assurance (QA) initiatives and educational activities.



Qualifications: Candidates must have a strong background in heart transplantation including proficiency in the surgical management of advanced heart failure experience with donor organ procurement and expertise in mechanical circulatory support devices. Board certification or eligibility in CardioThoracic Surgery is required along with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care education and research.

While not a requirement candidates with an interest in pursuing research in heart transplantation or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Such efforts would align with the programs mission of fostering innovation and academic excellence.
