Overview

Reports To: Program Director
Classification: NonExempt
Rate of Pay: $21.67/hour
Schedule: MondayFriday 9am5pm. Will also participate in an oncall rotation with some evening that will be required.

As one of Nebraskas most trusted human service organizations we make sure that kids feel safe and secure. At the same time were giving parents foster families and partnering agencies the support they need to care effectively for kids.

Program Summary
Pioneers Center serves as the only shortterm emergency shelter for kids (ages 1218 who do not have immediate access to another safe living arrangement in southeast Nebraska. Kids may be referred to the Pioneers Center because of: a history of abuse neglect or domestic violence; alternative to juvenile detention; interruption of a foster care placement; homelessness; hospitalization of a parent/guardian; or for shortterm stabilization. A variety of levels of care are offered at the Pioneers Center. Crisis stabilization is a more intensive level of care that involves the support of a CEDARS therapist. To prevent youth from being placed outside the home CEDARS also offers Basic Center services to families who are not involved in Child Welfare or the Juvenile Justice System.

Responsibilities
  • Provide services to clients and their families including case planning education and advocacy
  • Participate with staff team in making decisions regarding client care
  • Facilitate referral interviews intakes case conferences family team meetings or other meetings as assigned
  • Prepare and maintain complete case files and documentation for all clients
  • Assist with and participate in ongoing and followup reviews to evaluate appropriateness and quality of care provided.

Job Skills / Requirements

Must be 21 years of age of older
  • Bachelors degree in human services social work or a closely related field
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth and families
  • Leadership experience is preferred
  • Must have a passion for helping youth in crisis
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals in the organization and the community
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and computer/data entry experience
  • Valid drivers license and a good driving record
