What does a successful Sr. SQL Server DBA do at Fiserv

Fiserv is looking for a selfmotivated highly experiencedSeniorSQL Server Database Administratorto be focused on SSIS/SSRS as well as other SQL Server Databases. Experience in setting up SQL clusters and working knowledge in azure environments. The DBA is responsible for tasks such as development of best practices and repeatable procedures for deploying databases daytoday operational activities including break/fix capacity management backup and recovery database replication setup/management and ongoing database change reviews. The team also builds and maintains largescale and very high transaction SQL Server databases on Windows Server platforms. You will also work in tandem with the other teams preparing documentations and specifications as required.

What you will do:

You will work with Sr SQL server DBAs Product managers application development engineers networking server teams learn to build optimize and bring products to the market. User your strong technical experience working to fine tune the SQL databases and optimize SSRS (SQL server reporting services)/SSIS (SQL Server information services) for maximum reliability and productivity.

• Provision and configure SQL Server instances for both new and existing products.
• Ensure performance security and availability of databases.
• Plan implement and maintain replication strategies.
• In depth analysis of performance identification of areas of improvement and implementation planning.
• Prepare documentation procedures and specifications.
• Handle common database procedures such as upgrade backup recovery migration etc.
• Profile server resource usage optimize and tweak as necessary.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members.
• 24x7 Support of Production DBs
• Solid working knowledge performing OS/DB migrations on prem and in azure environments.
• Installation configuration and support of SQL Server Integration Services Reporting Services and Analysis Services.

What you will need to have:

• Knowledge of defacto standards and best practices in SQL Server
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server database management and administration including with large scale SQL Server databases.
• Hands on experience implementing and maintaining Always On Availability Groups is required. Knowledge of additional replication models in a plus.
• Hands on experience implementing and maintaining SQL Server encryption models including TDE Always Encrypt SSL connections etc.
• Experience working with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL jobs.
• Knowledge of SQL Server features such as partitioning query store Column Store indexing etc.
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL/TSQL queries and jobs.
• Experience with backup and recovery strategies.
• Knowledge and experience with BI tools like Power BI Tableau etc
• Windows Server Administration
• Experience supporting SAP application databases and trouble shooting
• Manage and operational experience SQL databases in azure cloud
• SQL monitoring tools experience and configuration
• Experience and support Application and SQL DB DR exercise
• Scripting PowerShell Python and shell scripting are all good
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications.
• Monitoring and alerting solutions
• Knowledge of limitations in SQL Server and workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
• Strong technical problemsolving skills and working knowledge of common protocols such as SFTP SMTP DNS and HTTP/S
• Able to work under pressure and multitask.
• Proactive dedicated committed and responsible.

What would be great to have:

• Bachelors degree in business Computer Science Information Technology or equivalent jobrelated experience
• 8 years technical experience with installation and support of SQL server databases 20212/2019/2022 versions.
