A Line Cook is responsible for preparing food and ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly.
Basic Requirements
Education: No formal education required but a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Experience: 01 years of kitchen experience.
Skills & Qualifications
Culinary Knowledge: Basic understanding of cooking techniques food safety and kitchen equipment.
Knife Skills: Ability to chop slice and dice efficiently and safely.
Food Safety & Sanitation: Knowledge of health codes temperature controls and safe food handling (ServSafe certification)
Speed & Efficiency: Must work quickly and accurately in a fastpaced kitchen.
Teamwork & Communication: Ability to work well with chefs servers and fellow cooks.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in a hot environment.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring food presentation and taste meet restaurant standards.
Multitasking: Managing multiple orders at once under pressure.
Preferred (But Not Always Required)
Experience with specific cuisines or cooking methods (e.g. grilling sauting baking).
Certifications (ServSafe HACCP) for food safety compliance.
