Job Description


Qualifications:

  • Complete annual department & organization education & competencies in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all requirements within IL Administrative CodeLevel II Trauma Center
  • Maintain records to demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples and sign the attestation statement on proficiency testing result submission forms when applicable.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the Laboratorys established performance specifications.
  • Communicate assessment findings to patient family and the care team.
  • Collect and trend trauma data and provide to Emergency Department leadership
  • Submit all required trauma data to IDPH within requested time frame
  • Complete special projects in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current IL licensure as Trauma Nurse Specialist in good standing
  • Minimum of three years of Emergency Department experience
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in Illinois.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers CPR
  • FEMA 100 & 200 certification within 3 months of hire
  • NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire
  • AHA ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months
  • ECRN certification/licensure within 1 year of hire
