Job Description
Qualifications:
- Complete annual department & organization education & competencies in a timely manner.
- Comply with all requirements within IL Administrative CodeLevel II Trauma Center
- Maintain records to demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples and sign the attestation statement on proficiency testing result submission forms when applicable.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the Laboratorys established performance specifications.
- Communicate assessment findings to patient family and the care team.
- Collect and trend trauma data and provide to Emergency Department leadership
- Submit all required trauma data to IDPH within requested time frame
- Complete special projects in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current IL licensure as Trauma Nurse Specialist in good standing
- Minimum of three years of Emergency Department experience
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in Illinois.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers CPR
- FEMA 100 & 200 certification within 3 months of hire
- NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire
- AHA ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months
- ECRN certification/licensure within 1 year of hire
