PostgreSQL Engineer

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a PostgreSQL Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer in Lorton VA. As a Network Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing implementing and maintaining the network infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of the customer systems ensuring high availability reliability and security. You will work collaboratively with the IT team to support various projects and initiatives on both classified and unclassified networks.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

• Administers maintains and troubleshootsPostgreSQLandOracledatabases in production staging and development environments.
• Performs database upgrades patches backups restores and migrations (includingOracle to PostgreSQL migrationinitiatives).
• Develops and implements database security policies and user access controls.
• Monitors database performance and tunes for optimal efficiency (e.g. indexing query optimization partitioning).
• Supports high availability disaster recovery and replication strategies streaming replication Oracle Data Guard).
• Automates routine tasks usingPL/pgSQLPL/SQL andscripting languages(Bash Python etc..
• Collaborates with application developers to optimize schema design and stored procedures.
• Creates and maintains documentation on architecture processes and policies.

Clearance Required: TS/SCI.

Degree: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5 years of handson experience as a DBA working withPostgreSQL(v11 or later).
• 3 years of experience managingOracle databases(11g/12c/19c).

DesiredCertifications:

• PostgreSQL or Oracle certifications CEOracle OCP).

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding ofSQLPL/pgSQLPL/SQL and advanced database features (e.g. window functions CTEs).
• Experience with database migration tools 2Pg AWS DMS or custom ETL processes).
• Proficiency inperformance tuningandquery optimizationfor both PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Experience withreplicationclustering andhigh availabilitysetups.
• Solid understanding ofbackup/restore procedures disaster recovery and security hardening practices.
• Familiarity withcloud database services(e.g. AWS RDS Azure Database for PostgreSQL Oracle Cloud).

DesiredSkills:

• Experience withOracle to PostgreSQL database migrations.
• Working knowledge ofDevOps pipelines CI/CD or infrastructure as code tools (Terraform Ansible).
• Experience withmonitoring toolslike pgAdmin pgBadger Oracle Enterprise Manager or Prometheus/Grafana.
