This is a twelvemonth position in the Career& Technical Education (CTE) Department of the Frederick Campus of the MarylandSchool for the Deaf.

Main Purpose of Job
To lead and grow MSDs Career and Technical Education (CTE) program; provide progressive education leadership and supervision of staff and students of the CTE program in partnership with the High School Department and Transition Services.
POSITION DUTIES
Provide models of effective teaching strategies toinstructional staff;
Participate in the development implementation andmaintenance of Marylands College and Career Readiness Standards in technicalsubjects;
Manage complex changes to align curriculum instructionand assessment to ensure students are learning at high levels;
Participate in the maintenance of Bilingual Educationconcepts throughout the School;
Evaluate job performance of team leaders teachers andteacher aides;
Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs andparticipate in IEP meetings;
Assist in the assessment of staff needs and providingstaff development;
Participate in the coordination of class schedulingcourse development and teacher assignments;
Participate in the review of applications interviewapplicants and submit recommendations for hire of new CTE staff to fill multiplenew positions that will populate MSDs growing CTE program;
Align all program growth with Marylands Blueprint to meet College and CareerReady Standards Maryland State Diploma and Career & Technical Educationpathway as well as to stay up to date with the ever evolving economy labormarket and technological innovations for which students must be prepared;
Direct and assist in management of student behavior;
Create and post positions develop and maintaincollaborative relationships with community partners to further student learningand trade experience;
And assume other responsibilities as designatedby the Chief Educational Programs Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Masters Degree in the Education of Deaf studentsEducation of Deaf students with additional disabilities or related fieldrequired.
Experience: A minimum of three years of successful classroomteaching experience with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is required.
Maryland State Department of Education AdministratorII Certification/Licensure required (or the ability to obtain in a specifictime). Understanding of basic behavior principles and school widebehavior programs and interventions required. Fluency in American Sign Languageand written English and knowledge of Deaf community required. Superiorinterpersonal and active listening skills required.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in administration/supervision preferred.
Experience in leadership activities that involve organizingplanning directing and monitoring resources preferred.
Experience teaching Career and Technical courses at themiddle school or high school level preferred.
Knowledge of educational strategies for Deaf students withadditional needs preferred.
Experience in developing communitybasedopportunities.
