Job Description:
The Client projects involve information technology services towards consumer Services. Projects include building and maintaining applications for the business groups and Enhancements to the current technology where DBAs and Developers are involved.
Job Duties:
- Manage work breakdown structures and Azure DevOps and/or Microsoft Project tasks to coordinate work necessary to complete project milestones. Must apply discipline and consistency to continually add update and manage tasks task assignments task statuses and task estimates.
- Produce project schedules budget projections and status reports based on detailed project data.
- Manage projects utilizing a team of inhouse and vendor technical staff performing software development infrastructure upgrades and migrations implementations and other technical projects to deliver lineofbusiness functionality for both internal the client users and citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Develop and manage project plans risk plans communication plans and other formal project management documents.
- Coordinate activities of internal and external technical teams between stakeholders including vendor partners for projects as needed.
- Identify changes to scope budget or timeline notify customers of risks make modifications and resolve problems within a mutually agreed upon timeliness.
- Maintain project status information and provide project status reports to Information Systems management and project stakeholders.
- Ensure that project activities comply with the client and Commonwealth policies and standards including security standard and required documentation
- Update VITA PlanView system for project governance activities.
Required:
- PMP OR VITA PMD Project Manager Qualification (level 14 Required.
- Experience managing software development projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience managing projects in a technical environment particularly in an information systems or software development environment.
- Experience managing vendor and contractor resources in coordination with internal staff resources.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply one or more formal project management disciplines such as the PMP Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Project framework PRINCE2 methodologies or other industry recognized project management framework.
- Capable of producing welldocumented project plans risk management plans change management plans work breakdown structures budgets and project status reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include the ability to clearly communicate project status and planning concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences. The demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and provide customer service to all levels of the organization customers and partners.
