Coilcraft Inc. a distinguished organization with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1945 has established itself as a global leader in the manufacturing of magnetic components. We specialize in producing highperformance RF chip inductors power magnetics and filters with our corporate headquarters located in Cary Illinois. At Coilcraft we are currently seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Engineering department. The successful candidate will investigate and diagnose electronic failures within our products identify root causes and implement effective solutions to enhance product reliability and performance. This role requires a strong understanding of electronic components testing methodologies and failure analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive failure analysis investigations on electronic components assemblies and systems to identify root causes of failures.
  • Develop and execute testing procedures to assess the performance and reliability of electronic components and systems under various conditions.
  • Analyze test data inspection reports and other relevant documentation to draw meaningful conclusions and provide insights into failure modes and mechanisms.
  • Prepare detailed failure analysis reports documenting findings root cause analysis and recommended corrective actions.
  • Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams including design engineers manufacturing engineers and quality assurance personnel to implement corrective actions and prevent the recurrence of failures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability quality and performance by identifying and eliminating failure root causes.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments emerging technologies and best practices in failure analysis electronic components and reliability engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in failure analysis reliability engineering or a related field preferably in the electronics industry.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components circuit design and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in using various tools and techniques for failure analysis such as microscopy Xray SEM/EDS and electrical testing equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats.
  • Detailoriented with a passion for identifying and resolving technical challenges.
