POSITION OVERVIEW: The welder is responsible for ensuring quality standards are being met while always upholding safety principles and guidelines. The welder will be cross trained in other areas and departments and may be asked to assist production when needed to meet customer needs and demands.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: The welder will posses the ability to assemble parts to complete units and component parts in specialized areas. The welder must have the ability to perform all of the following processes: fixture weld inner assemblies insulation wrapping auto welder operations final welding product end of cell checking fixtures air texting and set up and operate assigned machines to produce finished product in a final assembly. The welder will be responsible for accurately reading and understanding blueprints utilizing measuring devices such as measuring tape calipers and pi tape. The welder will perform a variety of specialized assembly operations such as jigging air testing vbands and component parts. There will be a need to utilize hand tools power tools and other special equipment within the department. Nelson follows 6S standards throughout the shop and the welder needs to be flexible to perform other jobs as assigned.
