Job Description
Are you a PhD student interested in machine learning natural language processing computer vision automated reasoning robotics or quantum technologies We are looking for skilled scientists capable of putting theory into practice through experimentation and invention leveraging science techniques and implementing systems to work on massive datasets in an effort to tackle neverbeforesolved problems.
A successful candidate will be a selfstarter comfortable with ambiguity strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fastpaced everchanging environment. As an Applied Science Intern you will own the design and development of endtoend systems. Youll have the opportunity to create technical roadmaps and drive production level projects that will support Amazon Science. You will work closely with Amazon scientists and other science interns to develop solutions and deploy them into production. The ideal scientist must have the ability to work with diverse groups of people and crossfunctional teams to solve complex business problems.

Are enrolled in a PhD
Are 18 years of age or older
Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
Can relocate to where the internship is based
Experience programming or scripting language like Python Java C or C
Have publications at toptier peerreviewed conferences or journals

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
