Job Description
Join the City of South Jordan as a Civil Engineering Intern!
Are you a motivated civil engineering student looking for handson experience in the field The City of South Jordan is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for a 1020 hourperweek position with a flexible schedule.
What Youll Do:
Analyze and prepare traffic studies using traffic counter equipment
Draft and review drawings and assist with minor engineering designs
Conduct field inspections and assist in project design under the supervision of a professional engineer
Support bidding procedures by reviewing bid documents and assembling materials
Perform engineering calculations and prepare technical reports
Assist in the enforcement of City codes ordinances and engineering standards
Collaborate with engineers city staff and contractors on transportation and infrastructure projects
Who You Are:
Currently enrolled in a regionally accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related field
Detailoriented and analytical with a strong understanding of engineering principles
Proficient in engineering software and comfortable with technical calculations
A strong communicator able to present reports clearly in written and oral form
A problem solver able to think critically and adapt to different engineering challenges
Able to work well with teams city officials and the general public
Qualifications:
Valid Utah Class D Drivers License
Ability to work onsite in South Jordan with periodic travel for inspections
Comfortable working in both office and field environments
