Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for preparation setup start and running manufacturing equipment under the guidance of the Production Shift Leader. The Machine Operator also has accountabilities that include ensuring that jobs meet quality specifications manufacturing standards and that safety procedures are followed while working to continuously improve quality and productivity of manufacturing operations. The Machine Operator will work a 12hour shift rotation in support of production needs.

Schedule: 12 Hour 6PM 6 AM) Rotating 4 days on 3 days off will include working holidays

Essential Accountabilities


Machine operation

  1. Setup operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce thermoformed parts to specification.
  2. Ensure maximum efficiency of setup to include setup time materials production rate and material consumption.
  3. Machine readiness inspect machinery equipment and tooling prior to setup.
  4. Identify issues which adversely affect product requirements and communicate with appropriate department personnel for resolution.
  5. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
  6. Identify nonconforming materials/products and work with shift leader for resolution.

Quality

  1. Ensure part quality meets established standards.
  2. Perform housekeeping duties.
  3. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

Communication

  1. Complete all shift documentation/paperwork.
  2. Shift handoff go over job status and updates with incoming shift.

Safety

  1. Participate in safety programs.
  2. Follow all established safety procedures.
  3. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One 1 year manufacturing or related experience;
  • Mechanical aptitude;
  • Ability to read write and speak English to meet training safety and quality requirements.

Desired Skills

  • Experience operating manufacturing equipment;
  • Organization and time management;
  • Computer and software skills;
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and Statistical Process Control

Position Requirements

Work Environment Conditions:

Inside (other): Good Manufacturing Procedures/American Institute of Bakers certified manufacturing environment


Equipment/Tools Used:

Thermoforming equipment computers controls measurement equipment pallet jacks hand tools


Physical Requirements: Light work (lift 10 lbs): continuously cases of product and hand tools

Medium Work (lift 1130 lbs. regularly cases of product and pallets 34 times per shift). Heavy Work (lift 3150 lbs. occasionally (one to two times per shift): cases of product and pallets Other Physical Requirements: Bending stooping climbing reaching twisting standing for long periods of time Mental Requirements Reading writing calculating interpersonal skills reasoning/analysis works with minimal supervision
