POSITION DESCRIPTION
Provide quality control support to the project team and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results. Perform construction quality control inspection and surveillance activities in support of project and/or maintenance activities.

Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training obey safety rules. and make safety an integral part of each task. Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition.

Review design output documents in accordance with approved procedures in order to establish

inspection requirements in quality assurance procedures construction plans and/or work packages. Coordinate with internal and external sources to resolve quality issues and provide status of the inspection/test activities for the work activity. Review technical criteria personnel qualications and work sequence on work packages including the notation of hold points prior to performance of inspections. Perform or direct the quality inspection activities of subordinate QC engineers and other inspection personnel as assigned. Assist in resolution of code specications and drawing interpretations. Perform or supervise the performance of inspection witness test surveillance and documents the results of the inspection activities. Assess the completeness of construction activities and quality verication documentation prior to preparation of quality control releases for turnover. Review subcontractors quality program for compliance to established procedures attends mobilization meetings and monitors their activities for proper implementation. Review suppliers and/or subcontractors quality verication documentation for traceability and specication compliance. Review assess and status subcontractors costs manpower and materials. Approve subcontracts invoices and application for payment.


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and at least 5 7 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An Associates degree and 7 9 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 10 14 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Certication with continuing technical training is required for performance of inspections and surveillance activities. Specialized training may also be required to support certain technical areas.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment
  • Satisfactory results of a preemployment screening which includes a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.
  • A minimum of 7year experience in quality control for construction projects. This should include at least 2 years of experience on projects requiring NQA1 pedigree
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in Civil Concrete Placement and Structural Steel installation.
  • Develop revise and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to civil and structural steel in accordance with Design Output documents Codes and Standards.
  • Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans. Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue NonConformance reports as required.
  • Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings specifications and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two 2 years are preferred.
