Job Description

Join us as a Peer Support Specialist with our Bridge Program in Provo Utah.

The Bridge team is based on Assertive Community Treatment (ACT). ACT teams can be described as a hospital without walls due to the extensive wrap around services that are provided. Services are provided both within the community and in the office based on client needs. Our Bridge Program is a clientcentered recoveryoriented mental health service delivery model that has received substantial empirical support for facilitating community living psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery for persons who have the most severe and persistent mental illnesses and have not benefited from traditional outpatient programs in the clients from needing hospitalization.

Schedule:

MondayFriday varies from 8:00am 8:00pm

Compensation:

NonCertified Wage: $16.25 $20.59 per hour

Certified Wage: $17.07 $21.63 per hour (depending on experience)

Additional compensation available for Spanish speakers after testing proficiency.


Essential Functions (Performs all or some of the following)
  • Provides safe effective and efficient consumercentered implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies procedures and standards of care
  • Establishes maintains and cofacilitates a therapeutic relationship with clients
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining a recoveryoriented program culture and therapeutic milieu
  • Engages clients individually and in groups to instill hope encourage personal responsibility for recovery and facilitate the development of recovery goals selfadvocacy skills natural supports crisis plans and recovery plans
  • Models competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills articulating points in his/her own recovery story that are relevant to the challenges faced by clients receiving services in the program
  • Observes records and reports client behavior and progress as indicated

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED; AND One 1 year post high school education in social work psychology or a related field; AND One 1 year of general work experience; OR An equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successfully completed a Peer Support Training through the Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH); Selfidentified individual who is in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use disorder; or parent of a child with a behavioral health disorder; or other adult who has or has had an ongoing and personal relationship with an individual with a behavioral health disorder.

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
