Housekeeper
Department: Housekeeping/Laundry
FLSA/Classification: NonExempt/Hourly (FullTime)
Shift: 1st 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Weekend & Holiday rotation required
Pay Rate: 15.00 16.00/hr DOE
Summary:
To clean assigned apartments suites or homes and to assist housekeeping staff in keeping all general areas of the facility neat and clean.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure that all work schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Ensure each residents room is kept clean without disturbing personal property unless requested by the Supervisor or Resident.
- Perform assigned tasks including vacuuming mopping dusting washing surfaces emptying trash and other duties necessary to assist in the cleanliness of the facility.
- Ensure that work/cleaning/laundry schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Uses commercial washers and dryers to complete 68 loads of laundry daily.
- Label and hang clean laundry on movable laundry carts.
- Bring clean laundry carts to appropriate residents in designated facility areas.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping/laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
- Ensure that all areas are maintained in a clean safe comfortable and attractive manner.
- Ensure appropriate techniques are followed when mixing chemicals disinfectants and solutions used for cleaning/laundry.
- Refer to material safety data sheets (MSDS) when necessary.
- Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing housekeeping/laundry functions.
- Coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing services.
- Perform isolation cleaning/laundry procedures in accordance with established infection control procedures.
- Complete all other assignments as directed by direct manager/supervisor
Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Previous experience is desirable but not required.
- Good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to read any special instructions and to understand labels on cleaning products.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk during 6 to 8hour shifts
- Must be able to reach lift bend stoop and wipe.
- Must be able to frequently carry supplies and push carts up to 60 pounds.
Other federally regulated requirements:
- Must be willing to undergo preemployment background check including (MVR) moving vehicle records.
- Must have or be willing to receive the FluShot Vaccine and TB testing.
- Must be willing to undergo preemployment drug screening including cannabis.
- Must be willing to undergo biometric screening.
