Position Overview:
Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Lecturer faculty perform instructionrelated duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the Lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
College/Department Overview:
The School of Criminal Justice is housed within the College of Liberal Arts. The School of Criminal Justice has three undergraduate programs and two masters programs which serve approximately 500 students. The School of Criminal Justice has 9 fulltime faculty members. The College of Liberal Arts consists of 8 academic units and has over 100 fulltime faculty members. For further information see our website at
Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
Teach courses spanning the criminal justice discipline. The teaching load for this position is five courses a semester 15 credit hours per semester). Attending start of year training sessions departmental faculty meetings and coordinating with department faculty to achieve course continuity assessment and quality as required. Willingness to teach in a variety of delivery formats (facetoface hybrid and online) as needed.
Experience Required:
An earned degree masters degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication problemsolving and organizational skills.
Experience Preferred:
Masters degree in criminal justice or related field with teaching experience is required. PhD preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is teaching a variety of courses in the field of criminal justice no university service required.
