GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Conduct operations of the Risk Management Department ensuring the safety and security of the juvenile correctional facility Wyoming Girls School (WGS) that serves a potential 60 adjudicated female delinquents ages 1221; for the purpose of changing their thinking and behavior of delinquency and dysfunction to become more productive members of their community and lessen the threat to reoffend upon their release.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.- Provides for the safety and security of residents during awake hours.
- Monitors supports and assistsresidents and staff.
- Responds to all emergencies.
- Produces and/or reviews incident reports.
- Manages radio traffic regarding facility events andresident movement.
- Greets guests in a manner that reflects a positive image and excellent customer service.
- Frequently transportsresidents to and from appointments and activities.
- Directs or assists in investigations involving risk management safety and welfare of residents and staff.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to manage crises in compliance with MANDT principles WGS policy and Wyoming State Law.
- Ability to participate implement and utilize advanced crisis intervention training.
- Basic and MANDT training.
- CPR/First Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens training.
- Defensive Driving Certification.
- Suicide Intervention and Prevention training.
- Knowledge of PREA (Prison Elimination Act) standards and practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:High School DiplomaExperience:02 years of progressive work experience (typically in Youth Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Youth Services AideOREducation & ExperienceSubstitution:13 years of progressive work experience (typically in Youth Services) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Youth Services Aide
Certificates Licenses Registrations:NoneNecessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:- This position will work 10hour shifts
- May be required to work weekends and holidays
- Must have the physical ability to complete the MANDT certification
NOTES:- FLSA: NonExempt
- All positions within the Department of Family Services will require a background check including taking fingerprints which will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation the Department of Family Services and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
