JOB SUMMARY: The Student Finance Adviser is an extension of the Student Finance Counselors serving as the first point of contact for financial account information.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be first point of contact for walkin students and other customers.
Manage the FAFSA ISIR Verification and missing items processes.
Coordinate summer camp scholarships.
Manage the processes for the Financial Appeals Committee (agenda minutes responses and tracking).
Assist Student Finance Counselors with data entry and reporting as needed.
Assist with financial aid information sessions and presentations.
Assist with monthly and annual reporting in order to comply with Federal regulations.
Assist with monthly collection activities of both current and noncurrent accounts which include data entry and support as needed.
Support the customerservice studentcentered focus of Student Finance while helping to maintain the financial viability of the University.
Performs assignments and projects as assigned by the directors of Student Finance.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must demonstrate track record of effective interpersonal communication and/or counseling skills; be able to multitask complex situations and work collaboratively toward winwin solutions; demonstrate sound judgment; be able to balance human need against policies; and be technologically savvy.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ the teachings and mission of the Seventhday Adventist Church and be a SDA church member in good and regular standing.
EDUCATION:Bachelors Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years experience in financial aid or loan/collection management preferred. Available to work a few Sundays and evenings each year for enrollment and/or financial aid related events. Computer skills required. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite products preferred.
