As a Manager Truckload a typical day might include the following:
- Lead and manage a team of Truckload Specialists with oversight on training development and performance.
- Oversee daily truckload brokerage operations and ensure timely costeffective carrier procurement.
- Build and maintain carrier relationships; proactively monitor capacity and align carrier capabilities with business needs.
- Negotiate spot and contract pricing with carriers including dedicated lane rates.
- Partner with Sales and Account Management to support key accounts identify needs and offer strategic solutions.
- Collaborate across departments to address pricing capacity and continuous improvement.
- Drive carrier development strategies to optimize service and cost.
- Provide regular performance evaluations and make recommendations regarding staffing and incentives.

To land this gig here is what you need:
- Education: Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience in transportation brokerage carrier management or logistics operations a plus
- Indepth knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of carrier sourcing tools including but not limited to DAT
- Ability to develop and/or respond to RFPs
- Familiarity with transportation management software (TMS) compliance and other relevant tools
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle conflict
- Proficient in MS Office TMS/Load board (DAT Truckstop etc. experience a plus
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
