Darling Ingredients is looking to hire Maintenance Mechanics for our plant in Honey Brook PA. Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists in the installation of new equipment.
- Works with the Plant Manager and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
- Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
- Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
- Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage amp and ohm meters.
- Cleaning and painting of process equipment and facility to maintain plant appearance.
- Facility maintenance
- Maintains clean neat and orderly work area at all times.
- Responsible for using assigned safety equipment including a hard hat safety glasses or goggles welding protection and a safety harness; responsible for being familiar with and observing all Company safety rules and regulations.
- Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing or feed mill maintenance.
- Basic welding piping and fabrication skills a must.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational school training preferred.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
- General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnosis problems with motors and other equipment.
- Good math skills; add subtract multiply and divide whole numbers fractions and decimals.
- Demonstrated advanced cutting & welding skills.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to push pull move or lift up to 49 lbs.
- Frequently required to walk stand climb balance stoop kneel crawl and crouch.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
- May need to work nights and weekends; available on call as needed.
WORK SCHEDULE
This fulltime maintenance job is available for all three shifts 6AM to 2:30PM 2PM to 10:30PM & 10PM to 6:30AM). You would typically work 56 days a week.
