As a Field Services Engineer your will perform all kind of field services activities related to the Monitoring and Diagnostics (M&D) Product Line of GE Vernova.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- After a full product training as an M&D Lead Field Service Engineer install maintain and perform services on substation monitoring equipment work in the field will be mainly outside in substations and power generation stations. It can be also in offshore wind platforms.
- Most of travels will be Monday to Friday with eventually travelling or staying over the weekend might be required.
- Provide both external and internal timely accurate and professional reports.
- Ensure onsite repair and modification work is carried out in compliance with GE Vernova standards.
- Be a primary technical resource for onsite work and take the lead in resolving engineering and product issues.
- Ensure efficiency & quality of installation and repairs.
- Be autonomous to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with the Services Leader Product Management Service Team Customers Channels OEMs and Sales Team to provide superior customer support.
- Ensure personal compliance with applicable regulations and encourage good employee safety practices.
- Provide technical direction to skilled staff and channels performing work on customer sites to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements and quality standards of the sold product.
- Communicate effectively schedule details manpower requirements quality issues and tools/equipment requirements.
- Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- This role will require frequent travel on a weekly basis within the EU (minimum 70 travel requirement) in South of Europe (Spain Italy Portugal Greece Romania Croatia Albania Andorra Bosnia and Herzegovina Bulgaria Cyprus Czech Republic Israel Macedonia Malta Montenegro Serbia Slovenia) but eventually in other countries of Europe and the European Union. Rest of the time when not travelling it will be working from home.
- The candidate must hold an EU work permit.
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or diploma in Engineering. Preferably Electrical Engineering controls & instrumentation.
- Prior Field Service work experience.
- Fluent English skills both verbal and written are required;
- Selfmotivated with positive mindset and strong influencing skills.
- Flexibility ready to travel.
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team player.
Desired Characteristics
- Experience working on the field in a substation environment.
- Experience with Kelman DGA equipment: Installation Repair and general service experience within the M&D Kelman product line is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to document plan market and execute programs
- Offshore training/experience is an advantage (GWO certificates preferred)
- Experience with installation and maintenance programs for Power Transformer monitoring equipment.
- Fluent at least in another European language.
