The Research Assistant collects transforms merges organizes and maintains the integrity of quantitative and qualitative data for several research projects.
30 hours per week.
Data sources include electronic patient records survey responses interview and focus group transcripts and machinegenerated data (e.g. from sensors in consumer technology).
The Research Assistant also coordinates projects and maintain project records including IRB documentation and participant contact information; process research stipend payments; create reports for project teams department administration and funders; and assist with project planning participant recruitment and participant scheduling as well as develops and maintains recordkeeping systems and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with subject fMRI data acquisition including protocol safety procedures clinical and imaging data collection.
Ensure highest levels of data integrity security and privacy.
Monitor recruitment activity and data entry.
Perform data quality review and data cleaning tasks.- Develop and implement data validation practices.
- Prepare and distribute data reports.
- Assist staff with computer and database tasks.
- Perform ad hoc data entry extraction and data audits.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Center and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements organizational standards and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
- Bachelors degree in natural or social sciences public health or related field; and/or equivalent experience/training in research.
REQUIRED MINIMUM CERTIFICATION
- No certifications required.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
- 1 year of research or clinical experience in hospital educational or health care setting.
- Demonstrated experience working with large data sets/spreadsheets (e.g. Excel SPSS REDcap).
- Experience in data collection and data quality control.
- Editing processing data blending manipulation or cleaning.
REQUIRED MINIMUM SKILLS
- Strong Microsoft Office skills especially Excel plus Word and PowerPoint.
- Basic statistical analysis skills.
- Project management and organization skills.
- Skills sufficient to work effectively and diplomatically with both internal and external technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels.
- Ability to communicate technical and nontechnical information and scientific concepts in a clear and concise manner in English in written and verbal forms.
- Selfmotivated learn quickly meet deadlines demonstrate problem solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in psychology or publichealth related field preferred.
- Knowledge of Medline and SPSS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time or exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
