As the Assistive Technology Coordinator at The Arc of ChemungSchuyler you will provide vital support in assessing and recommending adaptive/assistive technology tailored to the individual needs of clients. Your role will involve developing and implementing a comprehensive Technology Plan that enhances independence and aligns with the interests of those we serve. Collaborating with local organizations you will assist individuals in obtaining necessary technology through various funding sources such as insurance and grants. Documentation of services will be essential as will maintaining confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
Youll work closely with families and care coordinators organize meetings and engage in professional development through inservices and conferences. Youll also oversee direct reports ensuring accountability in operations and service delivery while remaining committed to innovative technology solutions that elevate the quality of life for individuals with ID/D diagnoses. To thrive as an Assistive Technology Coordinator at The Arc of ChemungSchuyler candidates must bring a minimum of one years experience working with individuals with ID/D diagnoses. Familiarity with assistive technology is essential as youll be guiding clients on how these tools can foster independence in daily living educational settings and employment. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with families community organizations and clinical staff. Proficiency in relevant software and tools used for assessments and documentation is also important. Additionally the ability to participate in ongoing professional development including completing the SHIFTHES Training is crucial for maintaining effectiveness in this role. Although a license or background experience in Occupational Speech or Physical Therapy but will accept other transferable degree programs/experience.
