General Summary
Performs activities related to transportation of patients. Follows established safety guidelines and uses appropriate devices when transporting patients. Provides messenger services on request
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Transports patients to and from clinical ancillary and support department areas as directed.
- Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds chairs wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts.
- Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Common Expectations:
- Maintains established policies and procedures objectives quality assessment safety environmental and infection control standards.
- Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Performs dispatching duties such as receiving transport requests dispatching available transporters based on established priorities coordinating transports to minimize delays and maintaining appropriate documentation.

Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required
Licenses:
- Heartsaver CPR/AED Upon Hire Required
