ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Audibles Next Chapter Returnship Program is a paid fulltime internship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to professionals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least one year to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. If you meet these criteria we welcome you to apply. This program offers you a chance to revamp your skills update your resume with new experiences and make connections with other professionals.

As a Software Development Engineer you will...
Develop test and maintain software components and applications for the worlds largest audiobook creator and provider
Identify and resolve software defects through code review log analysis metrics examination debugging and other troubleshooting methods
Write maintainable and scalable code as part of an agile engineering team
Collaborate with stakeholders to envision design develop test and launch customercentric software that inspires and impacts users
Apply computer science engineering and analysis principles to solve problems effectively
Continuously enhance testability operational excellence (OE) and documentation for owned software components
Handle data classification storage and management in accordance with company policies
Participate in the interview process and provide mentorship to fellow engineers

Experience with at least one modern language such as Java Python C or C# including objectoriented design
Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
1 years of relevant software development experience.
Experience writing clear maintainable and extensible code

Ability to solve problems in complex and ambiguous situations
Ability to work independently with little supervision and successfully resolve ambiguity
Willingness to learn be open minded to new ideas and different opinions yet knowing when to stop analyze and reach a decision
Ability to provide information to technical and nontechnical stakeholders alike and guide them to confidently informed decisions
Prior use of AWS technologies at scale in a production environment
Candidates with strong interests and academic qualifications/research focus in: Artificial Intelligence machine learning and/or Generative AI.
Familiarity with big data technologies (Spark Ray Hive etc.
Experience working with Agile methodologies
Proficient in a broad range of data structures and algorithms knowing when it is (and isnt) appropriate to use them
1 years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new systems
