Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior lawyer interested in a commercial environment seeking to develop their skills within a fastgrowing engineering business.
The workload whose complexity will grow as the successful candidate increases knowledge and experience of the business offers a genuine variety and will include:
- Reviewing drafting advising on a wide range of business as usual commercial construction and engineering contracts entered into between the various Egis subsidiaries in the UK and their clients and suppliers including confidentiality agreements collateral warranties deeds of novation
- Supporting with Company Secretariat matters including attending board meetings and drafting minutes
- Supporting the management of the insurance certificate database by the legal team
- Supporting the implementation of company ethics and compliance programmes
- Liaising with external counsel as and when necessary within the agreed policy and budget set by the General Counsel.
Qualifications :
Knowledge and experience:
- Minimum 2:1 Law Degree or SQE
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
- NQ to 1year PQE
- Experience in drafting and advising on commercial contracts construction contracts and/or engineering contracts essential
- Experience gained through training in a reputable private practice law firm
- Previous inhouse experience is preferred but not strictly necessary.

- Able to work autonomously or collaboratively as part of a team
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrable ability to translate complex legal issues into straightforward pragmatic and userfriendly advice and documents
- Ability to prioritise workload so tasks are delivered on time and on budget
- A proactive approach to learning and to building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business.
