SUMMARY: Performs a variety of semiskilled duties and assists in various technical fieldwork associated with the Natural Resources Department. Operates natural resource equipment including boats trucks etc. This position requires the successful applicant to occasionally work weekends holidays and after hours. This level is considered to be an entrylevel technician. This position is an oncall position; schedule and hours depend on availability of work.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS: Current Washington State Drivers License Current Boaters certification.

The successful applicant will regularly be required to talk and hear frequently required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms and occasionally be required to climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl taste or smell. The employee may frequently be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally required to work in high precarious places; and around vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Most of the job duties will be required to perform outdoors in all types of weather. Also must be comfortable being able to work in and around open waters.
OTHER: This position will be required to occasionally work weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate of Arts Degree in Natural Resources or a closely related field OR High School Diploma/GED and three years of Natural Resources experience or experience in a closely related field OR 4 years of relevant Natural Resources experience.
