The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking an experienced and compassionate Domestic Violence Shelter Manager to join our team immediately. In this impactful role you will help create a safe supportive and empowering environment for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Position Details:
Please note that this position comes with compensated oncall responsibilities.
Working hours are MondayFriday 8am4pm; with 37.5 hours per week.
Salary $20.51
Successful Candidates Will:
Complete Intakes and provide orientations for shelter residents.
Provide case management that engages survivors through collaborative development and discussion of goals and action steps
Develop safety plans with survivors
Facilitate weekly house meetings and shelter support groups
Provide ongoing support and advocacy and utilize crisis intervention and deescalation skills with survivors in crisis
Collect and record service and client information timely and maintain confidential survivor records and outcomes; prepare and submit detailed program data or reports as may be required in accordance with established deadlines
Develop and maintain professional working relationships with coworkers supervisors management community members other DV/SA agencies shelters for the unhoused and/or survivors and other organizations
Facilitate the upkeep of the shelter housing facilities
Support department crisis services including hotline coverage medical and legal accompaniments intakes and crisis counseling as needed
Assume (paid) oncall duties as assigned including evenings holidays and weekends.
Position Requirements:
Two years relevant work experience in human services; Associates Degree in Human Services or related field with priorrelated work experience; Bachelors Degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will all be considered.
Prior case management experience REQUIRED
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and developed emotional intelligence
Professional demeanor and positive attitude even in highstress situations
Ability to use sound judgment multitask and prioritize tasks
Highly developed skills that demonstrate: professional boundaries conflict resolution problemsolving and crisis management
Experience working with diverse populations required; experience working with clients with mental health and/or substance abuse a PLUS
Proficient to advanced computer skills
Knowledge of Dauphin County community resources REQUIRED
Valid drivers license clean driving history and reliable personal vehicle.
FBI Child Abuse and State Police Clearances or the ability to obtain.
