About the Role:
The Industrial Waste Program Manager (Project/Program Manager III/PPM III) position is an exciting opportunity to implement a new program within Industrial Waste (IW) that will provide critical project management skills for large complex special projects and initiatives such as the Comprehensive Industrial User Survey Electronic Annual Pretreatment Reporting Cross Media Electronic Reporting Rule compliance and Surcharge Fee Committee. This position will manage and ensure consistent internal coordination and collaboration within IW WTD and external parties.

About the Team:
The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) is seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our Industrial Waste team! We are a dedicated passionate team whose mission is to protect our workers conveyance and treatment infrastructure and recycled products from industrial and commercial discharges into the sanitary sewer system.


We do this by:

  • Permitting sampling inspecting and enforcing industrial users;
  • Reviewing and approving pretreatment systems;
  • Recovering costs associated with our program;
  • Conducting special programs initiatives and projects with a focus on continuous improvement;
  • Providing technical assistance and outreach; and
  • Recognizing good compliance through our awards program

Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Washington State Drivers License or the ability to travel to work locations throughout King County with limited or no public transportation in a timely manner.

  • Knowledge ofIndustrial Waste policies procedures and regulations.
