The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Anchorage International Airport is looking for a Mechanic to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:
As aMechanic the incumbent in this position is a full journey Level heavy duty mechanic specialist. Duties include troubleshoot analyze and repair gasoline and diesel engines repairing and rebuilding drive train components gasoline and diesel engines hydraulic systems and other mechanical systems of heavy construction snow removal and ARFF equipment. Diagnosis and repairing electrical system failures. Additional duties include performing roadside service on equipment; performing daily maintenance service and safety inspections; and maintaining shop records including work orders parts order forms and time sheets. Applicants(s) must furnish own hand tools up to & including inch drive socket sets.Our organization mission and culture:

AIRPORT SECURITY BADGE
Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations 49 CFR 1542(Download PDF reader)which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check. The successful applicant must pass a fingerprintbased criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED
This position requires the incumbent to possess a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) per federal regulations 49 CFR 383 to register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol TestingClearinghouseprior to performing safety sensitive duties and to provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382.
A Class A Alaska Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required at time of hire. A conditional hire approval can only be given for endorsements. This means that the proposed appointee must successfully obtain an NTanker endorsement within 120 days of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
