Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Financial Counsellor and No Interest Loan Specialist to join our team. In this role you will provide financial counselling services and manage our nointerest loan program ensuring that our clients receive the support they need to overcome financial challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide oneonone financial counselling to clients helping them understand their financial situation and develop personalised action plans.
Assess clients eligibility for nointerest loans and guide them through the application process.
Manage and monitor the nointerest loan portfolio ensuring timely repayments and providing ongoing support to clients.
Conduct financial literacy workshops and community outreach programs to educate the Dharug community on financial management.
Collaborate with other community organisations and stakeholders to enhance the support network for our clients.
Maintain accurate and confidential client records and reports.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
Demonstrated experience managing no interest loans schemes (NILS) and financial counselling
Desirable:
EAPA certified
Relevant qualifications in financial counselling social work or a related field.
Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of the Dharug community and a commitment to supporting their financial wellbeing.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using financial management software and tools.
