As a new Civil Engineer at Shurm Homes you can expect to work closely with our experienced team members to learn the ins and outs of our construction projects. Your daytoday responsibilities will include conducting site visits assisting with project planning analyzing survey reports and collaborating with architects and contractors. You will follow a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with occasional flexibility required to meet project deadlines. This role will provide you with handson experience in all aspects of civil engineering within a supportive and highperformance work environment.
What were looking for in a Civil Engineer
To excel as a Civil Engineer at Shurm Homes you should possess a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field with a strong knowledge of construction principles and practices. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software is essential for creating detailed plans and blueprints. Excellent problemsolving abilities attention to detail and effective communication skills are key to successfully collaborating with team members and stakeholders. Experience in project management and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements are also highly valued. A proactive mindset and a passion for delivering highquality work are traits we look for in potential candidates.

Background Check Policy and Procedure
All offers of employment at Shurm Homes are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check. Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates and on all employees who are promoted as deemed necessary.
Background checks will include:
- Social Security Verification: validates the applicants Social Security number date of birth and former addresses.
- Prior Employment Verification: confirms applicants employment with the listed companies including dates of employment position held and additional information available pertaining to performance rating reason for departure and eligibility for rehire. This verification will be run on the past two employers or the previous five years whichever comes first.
- Personal and Professional References: calls will be placed to individuals listed as references by the applicant.
- Educational Verification: confirms the applicants claimed educational institution including the years attended and the degree/diploma received.
- Criminal History: includes review of criminal convictions and probation. The following factors will be considered for applicants with a criminal history:
- The nature of the crime and its relationship to the position.
- The time since the conviction.
- The number (if more than one) of convictions.
- Whether hiring transferring or promoting the applicant would pose an unreasonable risk to the business its employees or its customers and vendors.
The following additional background searches will be required if applicable to the position:
- Motor Vehicle Records: provides a report on an individuals driving history in the state requested. This search will be run when driving is an essential requirement of the position.
- Credit History: confirms candidates credit history. This search will be run for positions that involve management of Shurm Homes funds and/or handling of cash or credit cards.
