The Assistant Geologist will assist on a variety of environmental based tasks as required by the project including federal state local and commercial clients. This position is responsible for field sampling investigations and report writing.
Assist with field related activities including logging soils air monitoring during investigation and remediation activities installation of groundwater monitoring wells collection of soil and groundwater samples for laboratory analysis and collection of soil for physical testing.
Assist in assessing soil and groundwater data developing soil and groundwater sampling plans data compilation for soil air and groundwater analytical results.
Assist with proposal and report writing for environmental based projects.
Assist in coordinating and scheduling subcontractors for field investigation activities and assisting with site remediation planning and implementation.
Assist in coordinating laboratory analysis appropriate to the proper identification and evaluation of samples.
Assist with onsite field monitoring to document compliance with various federal state and local permit requirements during project construction.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Geology or related Environmental degree required.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience. Previous internship experience including hazardous site assessment experience such as Phase I Phase II and remediation preferred.
Basic knowledge in standard geological techniques principles and procedures.
Basic knowledge of the Unified Soil Classification System. glacial deposits hydrogeology and ground water sampling.
Basic knowledge of OSHA CERCLA and remedial design.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problemsolving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
Basic knowledge in ArcGIS RockWare and Adobe Illustrator preferred.
Strong attention to detail facilitation team building collaboration organization and problemsolving skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Companys vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Companys Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
Valid drivers license. Required
OSHA 40hour HAZWOPER training Preferred.
